SOUTH CAROLINA

Family Preservation Community Services (FPCS) of South Carolina is committed to improving the lives of children and families in our communities by working collaboratively with state and community agencies. All programs offered by FPCS are designed to maintain children at the lowest, least restrictive yet most appropriate level of care. The emphasis is on home and community-based care as an alternative to residential placement and treatment of children.

Keeping in line with the company's mission to serve youth and families in the community FPCS has developed a Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program. TFC is an intensive treatment program for emotionally disturbed children that incorporates clinical treatment services provided within a supportive foster home setting.  The goal of TFC is to enable a child to overcome emotional, behavioral or psychiatric problems in a highly supportive, individualized, and flexible foster home placement, thereby helping the child to move on to a less intensive foster home placement or to return to the natural home or family setting.  Therapeutic Foster Parents (TFPs) are recruited and trained in behavior management and treatment interventions designed to meet the individual needs of the child. The program adopts a wraparound approach that includes the family in treatment planning and seeks to include therapeutic support services in the care of the child and family.  These services include: Behavior Intervention, Independent Living, Tutoring, Transportation and Intensive Family Services.

FPCS is always seeking patient, loving and caring individuals to become therapeutic foster parents.
